East Coast
Calm coves and quiet villages
Mallorca's east coast is its quietest, greenest and best-value coastal stretch. Canyamel, Capdepera, Cala Ratjada, Son Servera, Cala Millor, Cala Bona, Porto Cristo and the historic inland towns of Artà and Manacor define the region.
The coastline here is shaped by a series of protected coves and wide sandy bays, with pine-covered hills dropping straight to the sea. Canyamel — anchored by its championship golf course, dramatic caves and uncrowded bay — leads the luxury end. Cala Ratjada and Cala Millor add resort infrastructure and family-friendly beaches; Porto Cristo combines a working harbour with sandy coves and the famous Coves del Drac caves.
Property ranges from substantial sea-view villas on the hillsides, golf-side homes near Pula, and a strong inventory of well-priced apartments and townhouses near the beaches. The region offers significantly better value per square metre than the Southwest while still delivering sea views, calm and proximity to good infrastructure.
For buyers who accept a longer drive to Palma (around one hour) in exchange for space, nature, and a far quieter pace, the east coast is one of the island's most underrated regions.
